Utilizing Technology to Enhance Interest in Learning the History of Islamic Culture at MA Al Ahliyah Karawang

This study aims to examine the use of technology in enhancing interest in learning the History of Islamic Culture (SKI) at MA Al Ahliyah Karawang. The research employs a qualitative approach with a descriptive method. The study was conducted at MA Al Ahliyah Karawang, located on Jl. Jend. Sudirman, Babakan Majalaya, Wancimekar Village, Kotabaru District, Karawang Regency, West Java. The research subjects consisted of the madrasa principal, the SKI subject teacher, and the students. Data collection techniques included observation, interviews, and documentation. The results indicate that technology is utilized in SKI instruction through the use of PowerPoint, instructional videos, the internet, projectors, and smartphones as learning support media. The use of such technology creates a more engaging, interactive, and enjoyable learning atmosphere, thereby increasing students' attention, interest, motivation, and participation in the learning process. Furthermore, technology assists teachers in conveying Islamic history material more clearly and understandably through visual and audiovisual presentations. Despite certain challenges—such as limited internet connectivity and technical issues with specific devices—the use of technology continues to have a positive impact on students' interest in learning. Thus, the use of technology serves as an effective instructional strategy for enhancing interest in learning the History of Islamic Culture at MA Al Ahliyah Karawang.
